DNV 2.7-2 is a standard set by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) for offshore service containers. Here are some key areas of expertise needed to manufacture a DNV 2.7-2 container: 

  1. Engineering and Design: Knowledge of structural engineering and design principles is crucial. This includes understanding the specific requirements outlined in the DNV 2.7-2 standard, such as load capacities, material specifications, and safety factors. Extensive electrical work is required to equip the container with the CPFG panel and pressurization up to 75 pascals. By sourcing a container from China which is undoubtedly the world’s leading manufacturer, companies face the risk of material from China.  
  1. Welding and Fabrication: Skilled welders and fabricators are essential to ensure that the container is constructed with precision and meets the welding standards specified in DNV 2.7-2 code. Certain instruments that emit friction-leading sparks are ATEX-certified to adhere to the highest safety requirements. Since laptops used in the cabin are not ATEX-certified, it is essential to pressurize the cabin accordingly.

Although there are other certification bodies able to certify containers to these standards, only DNV can authenticate this certification as the standards were written by DNV.
